The Sponsored Parent Visa SC 870 lets parents of eligible Australian citizens, Permanent Residents or eligible New Zealand citizens visit Australia for a period of 3 to 5 years. This visa is an ideal alternative for reuniting parents and their children in Australia temporarily. While you cannot work in Australia while you hold this visa, you are not required to meet any Balance of Family Test.

Application Process

An eligible sponsor must first sponsor the applicant for this visa. Once the sponsorship has been approved, the applicant can then apply for this visa. The applicant must not be in Australia while applying for this visa and must submit their application within 6 months. If you are granted the permission to apply from Australia,you must apply within 60 days after the sponsorship approval.

Duration
