Temporary Skill Shortage Visa
The TSS Visa SC 482 is a temporary visa that lets an employer sponsor
a skilled professional to fill a position that they cannot find a suitable
Australian for.
Application Requisites:
- The applicant must be nominated for a skilled position by an
- approved sponsor.
- The skilled professional must have the required skills for the job.
- Must meet the required English language standards.
With this visa, employers can counter the shortage of employees they face and bring in skilled professionals that they do not find a suitable Australian to fill.
SC 482 Short Term Visa
This visa stream allows employer sponsor to nominate overseas skilled
workers with relevant occupation listed on Short Term Skilled
Occupation List.
The visa permits nominated employees to work and live in Australia for
a period of 2 to 4 years if permitted by the International Trade Obligation.
Eligibility
- The applicant must have required qualifications, skills and
- relevant work experience of at least 2 years.
- Must be nominated by Standard Business Sponsor for the occupation that is listed on STSOL.
- The applicant must receive positive skills assessment from the
- relevant Skilled Occupations Authorities.
- Must have competent English skills
- Should meet health and character requirements
SC 482 Medium Term Stream
This visa stream allows the employer sponsor to nominate overseas skilled workers with relevant occupation listed on the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List or the Regional Occupation List. The employee nominated under this stream can work and live in Australia for a period of up to 4 years.
Eligibility
- The applicant must have required qualifications, skills and relevant work experience of at least 2 years.
- Must be nominated by Standard Business Sponsor for the occupation that is listed on MLTSSL or ROL.
- The applicant must receive a positive skills assessment from the relevant Skilled Occupations Authorities.
- Must have competent English skills
- Should meet health and character requirements
Labor Agreement Stream
This visa stream allows skilled workers to work and live in Australia when they have been nominated by the employer with a labour agreement. Through this stream, the nominated employee can work and live in Australia for up to 4 years based on the terms of the labour agreement.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be nominated by the eligible employer holding the labour agreement with the Department of Home Affairs.
- The applicant must receive a positive skills assessment that complies with the terms of labour agreement.
- Must have competent English skills.
- Should meet health and character requirements.
